Winter Series 2019 Round 2 Race Report

Round 2 of the Winter Series club meeting at Deerdale Race Report

Well what an interesting day we had at Deerdale for the second round of the Deerdale Winter Series 2019, With the weather forecast looking a bit grim. With slightly dissapointing numbers I spoke to the drivers and asked them what they wanted to do.

They all decided to have the track open for the morning for open practice and run two finals based on the fastest lap times. The drivers that attended enjoyed the practice session with the timing system running of course and the computer reading out the lap times every time they went across the line

The track closed just after noon.

During the short place I created the two finals, one Buggy Final and one E-Buggy Final.

With such sort numbers and being short on marshals and pit men, we bent the rules slightly and let marshals refuel cars at their marshal points

The first final was the Nitro Buggy Final. The starting order was;

1. Lee Maggs

2. Richard Smith

3. Frazer Stain

4. Kyle Ward-Taylor

5. Liam Brocklehurst

The race lasted 15 minutes and the winner was Lee Maggs. Second place was Richard Smith and finially Kyle Ward-Taylor finished in third place. Well done to all drivers a nice race to be had by all. Look at that little face on Kyle. Even though he paid of race control

The next race on the line was the E-Buggy final, The starting order was;

1. Paul Fyfe

2. Graham Stocks

3. Keith Bellamy

4. Dave Ingram

This race also lasted for 15 minutes. After some brilliant battles we saw Graham Stocks finishing first, Second place was taken by Paul Fyfe, Keith Bellamy our club treasurer finishing in third place.
