More and more things have been improving over the past few years at the track. With many more to come!

 

As the title says we are continuing to help with improvements across the site at Deerdale 

 

Some of these are:

  1. Painting the container
  2. Rebuilding pit lane 
  3. Running power and data from race control to the rostrum for screens on the rostrum 
  4. Refit of all aspects of race control. From flooring to desks/benches to having a complete rewire. Fridge and Freezer for cold drinks and ice creams, as well as hot drink capabilities. Now with dedicated coffee machine.
  5. Lots of new astro has been laid with more to be done very soon!
  6. Migration from the large orange pipe to the smaller yellow pipe in an attempt to have less broken pipe in the future 
  7. Container made into limited storage and pitting space with ability to charge batteries. 
  8. Delivery of a new 11kva generator. Installed with exhaust through the roof!
  9. Armoured cable from the container to race control where the power can be used effectively around the site (also included is an earth spike, The site now having a proper earth
  10. Anti vibration pads for the generator to be mounted on in the container. 
  11. Cooling for the generator so it doesn't over heat during the warmer months (with a vent coming into the front of the container to help take the chill off while pitting)
  12. Large air compressor for drivers can blow off their cars after racing. 
  13. Ride on mower purchased to keep the grass short and looking tidy. 
  14. BBQ donated to us to be used when doing track work or special events 
  15. Race Control been repainted 
  16. Race control having its own internet connection with external aerial for reliable connection for live timing. 
  17. Several new computers for the rostrum, Used for NetScreen enabling drivers to see their times and finishing positions as they come off the rostrum.
  18. New race control computer
  19. BBK Licence Drivers+ which enables us to stream live race data 
  20. Deerdale Website now being able to host the live race data produced by BBK 
  21. New painted stand/holder for the scoreboard 
  22. Painted and sealed the roof of race control to stop water ingress
  23. Sockets around the track for battery charging 

Possibly more that i've forgotten about 

 

Things to come:

  1. Sockets around the fence of the track that can be rented for the day (Done)
  2. More astro to be laid
  3. New piping to be laid (Done)
  4. Rostrum to be rebuilt and made more water tight 
  5. Rubbish to get rid of after the astro work has been completed
  6. New fencing created around parts of the track, Specifically Gration Corner 
  7. Two more containers Possibly a second 40' for more pitting or storage space. One 20' for pitting space when meetings are running and so members can open up and use while they are there. (Connector for their own generator to power the lights and sockets in there) 

There has been many things that has been accomplished by the club over the past few years. We are determined to keep a good solid venue for our members and races to enjoy!

Don't forget we are hosting a round of the Truggy + E8 Buggy Nationals in 2025 as well!

Above: Our ride on Honda mower which was rebuilt and serviced by our very own Nick Tullett. She's had new belts, Carb and fuel tank clean out. Oil and filter service, New cutting blades as well as all the electrical problems fixed!

Above: The UPS that provides uninterrupted power to the main race computer and accessories on that side of race control just in case of a power failure. Allowing the race computer to stay on and keep the race running without loosing any important data

Above: These two images are the sockets that are around the track for drivers to use to charge their RC batteries while racing with us. The cost of these has been built into the entry fee of the club racers also these are charged at £2 a meeting for non Club events
